500th Post : Lake Moogerah Gorge

A my 500th post on this blog, I was wanting to have something nice but I couldn't really think of anything to say LOL. So I did this rough sketch of Lake Moogerah Gorge. It is part of a very big bit of land in Queensland, where kids from year 8-10 at my highschool go for a week as part of development of character and bonding between classmates. The lake in recent years has shrunk considerably due to the drought, and when I was there last, the water levels were as you see, with the waterfall being quite high. It has been said that decades ago, there was no waterfall and that the students used to be able to canoe into the mouth of the waterfall which was where the water level was....

Anyway, part of what you do once you paddle out to the gorge is take a jump. When the water levels were higher, the kids would climb up a platform built into the trees on the right hand side of the image, and leap ~10-12m. When I went, I had to leap off from the top of the rock wall on the right of the sketch.... Ah the memories...

Well, 500 posts doesn't seem to be a lot of writing material considering how many years this blog has been in existance. I have poured much of my heart and mind here over the years but these days I have learnt to be a little more careful with what I write. It of course doesn't mean that I won't express my opinions and thoughts on the matter, but as you can see of late, there is less material on my private personal life.

To all of you who are my friends that visit, thank you for continuing to do so and I hope that through this, I am able to keep in touch with you all, and those who leave me comments thank you especially. To those random visitors who have become more regular visitors, please keep coming back, and well, let us have a discussion or two via comments, or my messageboard. I have made a lot of friends through the internet, some which I hope to meet in person one day ^_^, others who are steadily becoming good friends. Everyone can always always have more friends.

If you're a random visitor reading this post as your first visit, I'd suggest that you probably just read from 2008 onwards LOL, unless you wish to get to know me as the author a lot more, but just be warned that not all materials is PG13 XD
