Yay.
Went out this morning after breakfast and picked up a Laser Printer.

Our original printer, which was a Dot Matrix printer, with ribbon fed paper ceased it's operational status years ago when Herb came back to Brisbane with a Cannon bubble jet. However, since he originally bought it, we never actually printed enough stuff to use the print cartridges properly. And now, the black ink in the cartridge has turned pink..... which is very not so professional for assignments and other things.

And since it was pretty costly to get another inkjet cartridge on the potential of it also going off colour eventually, we decided to get a laser printer.

The model we have bought is the Samsung M1710p.

It's a nifty little printer, and I have just completed setting it up and installing drivers. It comes with a 1000 page toner cartridge, and we plan on buying two more toners that will last us years past when they cease selling the printer and toner for the printer no doubt. Calculating costs, it comes down to 3.4c/page plus electricity after we go through all of the toner, which isn't a bad price for printing compared to uni which charges 11c per page for printing!!!!.
