Coconuts...... at Woolies

Just came back from shopping at Woolworths at my local shopping centre, which was recently re-developed by Mirvac. There were some coconuts in the fruit and vege section, in plastic crates, the usual price tag and such on them. These were the fully haired, but outer skin shucked coconuts, so in other words, you still had to crack these badboys open to get to the juice and flesh contents. Fairly normal for non-fresh coconut vending.

Underneath the price tag was a line that caught my attention though. It said
Great for use in lamingtons and cakes
Um. Fair enough. But let me ask you this. Who in their right mind is going to buy a hard coconut, dehair it, smash it open to get the juice out, then scrape the flesh out in its wet and gooey form (depending on the quality of the coconut here), and then dessicate it, shred it and then roll their moist chocolate laden sponge squares in it? Or use in their cakes?..... when it's *cheaper* to get pre-dessicated shredded coconut in a packet two aisle down...... Sure, you could take the effort to create something more natural, but honestly, who would care that much??

I also got a small tin of Zippo fluid for my lighters, because of the cold weather my father is finding it difficult to light the usual cheap ass made-in-china cigarette lighters for his incense, so I decided to fill up one of my lighters (the Budapest one) for him to use instead as it is far far easier to light and it stays lit until you blow it out or shut the lid.
