Smart People

This movie stars a lot of names including Ellen Page (Juno fame), Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker. It is comedy of some kind, though it doesn't exactly have hilarious moments in it....

Basically, Lawrence and his family is a very smart collection of people, with the exception of his adopted brother Chuck. Lawrence though is trying to move up in the world by publishing a new book, while also getting a head of faculty position at the university he works at. His daughter is sitting SAT exams and has the potential to enter Standford. His son is no slacker either, as you discover he has poetry published in the New Yorker.

But, all of this kind of goes a little pear shaped when Lawrence smacks his head on the ground after climbing the fence to get his briefcase from his impounded car. While at the hospital he gets a seizure which disqualifies him from driving a car for six months... Thus, let the change begin.

What it can be said about this movie is that for all the intelligence people have, there is always something that you probably have not learnt in your life that you will come across, be it how to relax, how to socialise, or how to accept other people for who they are.

It was a interesting movie. I quite enjoyed it as there was some witty dialogue present. I think I could be come a fan of Ellen Page's work =)
