Bondi Beach Outing + Blood Test Results

A nice sunny day to be going to the beach. I was invited to go along with some of the advanced beginners and new beginners to Bondi Beach for some R&R. The weather seemed a bit overcast initially, but when the day warmed up, it was very bright, a little hazy but quite nice overall. There was a gentle breeze through the day that kept it cool enough so the heat wasn't a sweltering environment.

We caught the bus down to the beach from the train station interchange and plonked onto the sand for a few hours. There was some frisbee played and conversation before lunch at a local fish and chip shop. I, being more conscious of my health ever increasingly these days opted for a seafood salad/mussel salad instead of the fish and chips, and from the looks and comments it probably was a good idea since they said it was very very oily... Post lunch, one of the guys decided to do something he had thought about for a long time, which was the 100 soft serve challenge.

What is that exactly? It's 100 McDonalds Soft Serve Cones, at 30c each, that's $30. Well, the people behind the counter at Macca's Bondi Beach were a little astounded, but said ok to it... We enlisted about 15 people from the group to take it head on, and well, they managed to do it, it took about 40 minutes to complete because they had to restock the soft serve machine and let it chill down the mix into soft serve consistency hahaha.... Quite disturbing really seeing 100 of them dissappear... I had one because I wasn't inclined to gorge myself on more, while some of them had 8 or so, or more I think in the case of one person.... hmmm emulsified fat~ LOL.

We then went back down to the beach and they started up some touch football and I just chatted with people, before we packed up and went home via the train.

Earlier in the day though, I went and picked up my blood test results from the health service at university. I generally do a checkup every six months of so just to see how everything is going. The tests came back pretty good. I had minor liver function increase, with like a 33 in a value (range has 32 as upper normal) and a 82 in another value (80 upper normal) but the nurse said that they weren't significant flags to be a problem. Blood count was normal and quite healthy, renal functions good, and the best part is my cholesterol is very good with a reading of 3.9 (the range is 3.9-5.0 for healthy). So, looks like I'm doing ok health wise ^_^.

Pictures of the bondi outing can be found in my Flickr or at this set.
Some of them have this look about them as if they were taken from a 'hidden' camera, or strange square black shaped framing. I had my lens hood on the 18-55mm EFS lens, and at 18mm, the focal width is actually greater than the lens hood, so you capture the lens hood in the picture, but at the 28mm+ range it doesn't get in the way. So I wasn't taking pictures through a hidden bag hole or something. I'm not that stalkerish. =P
