Its dawn
the heat is already on the way
numbers abnormally high
sigh
clothes off, clothes on
out the door to the last coolness from the night before.

Constant speed down south
its early yet with waking birds
people, still in their dreams
stirring for the day.

A quick stop,
a hello, good morning
and away we go again.
Tragedy in the way
frustrations rising with the sun
eventually the wheels move again
a little late but still early.

The sun is at an unusual low
usually reserved for once up from stirring
grass damp from still fresh dew
cooling, calming, refreshing.

The small band of not so merry
swinging away
yah
toh
strangers passing, glances given
no-one seems to care.

Time passes
sweat forms, the dew is now long gone
Practice earned
hopefully memories kept
to not need repeat said words.

The alarm bell rings
one must leave
we shed our hard outer shells and relax
a good mornings work but yet the day is still young.
A joke or two, tired a little but
our bodies glad for the burn
our minds with new clarity from silence.

Back onto the road,
this time the wheels move freely
a short trip down, goodbye, have a nice day
and home.
The day is still quite new, but the numbers say
today will be a hot one.

And so it was.
