While still watching the US election coverage on television, it's interesting to note the differences between the two camps. On the CNN coverage, they showed that the Obama camp is out in a park, 25 000 people, big screens showing all of the coverage. Then, you have the McCain camp, in a 5 star hotel, with a exclusive invite list. They initially started with the count data, but then as they started to lose, they turned off the screens and played music instead.
Isn't that a typical head in the sand behaviour, where you know what is happening but you want to pretend otherwise?... As the CNN guy said, everyone has their blackberrys so, it's not like they don't know what the count is going at....
I guess that just shows you what the McCain mentality is like, since if you look at all of the coverage from say Australian politics, even if a team is getting kicked, they still keep the footage on and watch it through until the declaration, because they pay respect to the results....
Interesting though is the technology being used by the CNN broadcast, they have some cool video holographics ^_^
