Twenty20 Cricket

I'm watching the Twenty20 Cricket on Channel 9 right now, between the Emirates AllStars and Australia. The concept of the Twenty20 cricket isn't very new anymore, but they are continuing to try and make the experience different to draw the crowds. Besides the usual commentary and graphics to let everyone know what is going on, we now have live microphones on the field on players.

What I mean about this is that the batsmen have mic's in their gear/helment, or they are using directional mic's that can just pick up the batsman from directing it at their mouths. The captain of the fielding team is wearing a wire and the commentators actually talk to them and have these full blown conversations with them.... It certainly is something different, and adds a little more dimension to the game and what is being thought and planned on the plays.

Boiling it back to the base, it is still cricket no matter what, so fans who don't like it, don't listen to it and just watch the cricket, and fans who do like it, enjoy it LOL.

The stadium at the Gabba (in Brisbane) is pretty packed, so, the game is certainly looking positive in terms of keeping the audience and participations.
