Well, for those who live in Sydney, and have to put up with CityRail, you know my pain. Shittyrail as it is called by some quite aptly.
My morning experience today involved me getting to the station a little later than usual but that generally wasn't a problem. The indicator boards said, next train was a "special", and the train after that was 4 minutes away. Well, nothing was said about the special train, and then 4 minutes stayed at 4, for 12 minutes. Then the train rolled in. Normally, this train would actually go all stops via Lidcombe to the City Circle, well, this train ended up being an Olympic Park train, so it terminated at Lidcombe before turning into a Olympic Park train on the wrong platform... OP services run off platform 1, this stopped at platform 3, and everyone bailed out of the train and crammed onto the platform to wait for the next train in 5 minutes.
Waiting waiting waiting, the next train is an express, Strathfield, Ashfield, Redfern, Central, City Circle. Hop on, train is crowded. Little kid asks if my shinai bag is a didgeridoo case. I say no, it's a sword bag and show him my bokken and shinai. Little kid thanks me because his mum told him to, kinda cute haha. But wait, the train stops ..... at Homebush! Then proceeds.... I wonder who was at Homebush station that was so important they had to stop the express just to let them on.... So then I got into Redfern and trudged my way in.
I don't know why our rail system is so plagued with inconsistencies. Having travelled Japan Rail, Hong Kong MRT, Taiwan MRT, Melbourne trains, Queensland Rail, New York Subway, I just don't get it.... we are meant to be a 1st world country, and the major city in this country, and yet our rail system fails consistently. That is the true definition of fail.
You suck balls Cityrail.
