Last few days has been interesting and not too bad.
Things of highlight:
I interviewed 3 people as part of the process to find a PhD candidate for the project following on from mine with Lang Technologies. It was interesting and different to be on the other side of the process and gave some appreciation on what to be more aware of when being interviewed. We decided to chose Roshan for the position, and I think he will be a good student for it. The other two were very unique in their own ways, but one who looked good on paper was actually quite terrible in person and well, we decided not to give her any project while the other guy who wasn't so good on paper will go with the Timber drying project.
I spoke to my industry guy, and he said they will know next thursday if I have a job or not, but it might be a little while before they can appoint me into a position if next thursday goes ahead to plan.
In kendo, I spoke with a visiting 4th Dan player from Japan, Satoshii, about how to extend kihon men cuts, and he gave me some advice, and I think it helped, I was able to land about maybe 60-70% of my kihon cut attempts. Much pleased with it. Slowly but surely I will improve....
And then, I installed World of Warcraft and using a 10 day pass from Louis, I started to play a night elf druid... so far level 8 after one day of playing. The key controls are different to DDO so it was a little bit of a struggle at the start, and I can see what they mean about grinding, though yeah... I don't know how it works in party with collecting stuff.... I'll see how the rest of the trial goes I guess, but the problem is I don't really have money for purposes of subscription so if I like it, I don't know if I could afford to pay more lol.
Onto other things,... um, I don't think there is.
Oh, yeah, I watched Run Fatboy, Run. It's a good movie, simple, but quality British humor as usual and with the guy from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, it's quite funny in some parts =)
