I went and saw the Spiderwick Chronicles today. It wasn't too bad a film, the start was a little choppy in a way, didn't really explain much of a backstory and felt a tad rushed in a way to bring things up to speed.

The special effects were reasonable, some 'jump you in your seat' moments existed but I didn't jump lol. Plot wise, solid and simple since it was a Nickalodean (spelling?) movie so the kids kind of had to be able to follow it to some extent. Some entertaining moments of comedy and humor as well.

I was a little disappointed that it didn't really show as many of the 'faerie' creatures that this book contained, just really six of them out of a whole chronicle.... kinda weak really. Potentially could have been much longer and cooler to spread it out some but they finished off the movie with a fairly 'final' way so no sequel is really expected. Well, at least not from me anyway.
