My friend took me to this Indonesian place in Kensington down on Anzac Pde today for lunch. I've never really had indo food before, so it was something different. The shop itself looked pretty shabby, but from experience, the shabbier the joint, two possible outcomes, it tastes really good, or you're going to end up in hospital.....

I'm not in hospital yet LOL. I didn't really know what to get, and since he spoke indo, I just got him to pick a few things for me as we had the rice with 1 veg and 2 meat plate, plus two side plates.

What we had, this potato thing, it was like mashed potato croquette with vege inside it called Perkedel, which tasted alright, texture wise it was fairly rough, not very smooth potato mash. There was green spinach which was cooked in probably coconut milk or something similar, quite nice actually, really liked it, and it was Padang style, the chicken was a dry marinated Padang style also. I also got to try Rendang Beef, which was a kind of marinated beef, which supposedly in indonesia if you get the right stuff, it can keep for 2 weeks without refrigeration.... and then there was also a fried beef lung called Paru. It was very dry and hard, chewy really, but different, nice, I wonder if it works with pigs lungs.... And then there was a soy tempe called Sambal Goreng Tempe. All of together was quite nice, a little on the spicy side as you could expect in that region of the world though. A different experience for me nevertheless.

I also got a few more bits of clothing, including my first Armani LOL. My parents didn't even know what Armani was... It's a nice shirt, but my wrists are too thick for it for the buttons to be used on it... but I guess it looks ok without the cuffs done.... =P

Today was fricken COLD! My goodness, it was like 9°C this morning........ And it was also super windy out there today with some light rain. Nice weather to staying indoors if you can.... Don't know what I'll do for the rest of the day at home though.
