Well, DDO just released Module 7, The Way of the Monk, which includes the player class of monk, 2 new raids and probably a few new quests, along with the new wilderness area that is the old Three Barrel Cove area. I have yet to explore that region.
First impression of monks as a class is interesting. There has been quite a lot of players on Sarlona (my server) playing it LOL, as to be expected, and it is interesting to see many multi-class builds for monks already popping up here and there. The way that they have taken monks is ok, I didn't really know what they were like in Pen & Paper v3.5, goodness knows if they exist in v4.0 for that matter. The monk is build around the concept of being centered. Where you are using monk only weapons, not encumbered nor wearing armour above light/cloth. This gives you particular bonuses and skills/feats. In addition to this, you have 'ki' which is kind of like spell points for clerics/mage/sorcerers but it regenerates when you attack, or get attacked depending on your stance. Wait for it, yes, you have alternate stances depending on which path you chose, so you can have fire, water, air and earth paths, as well as light, and domination (dark). Being only at level three, it is too early to say how my monk will go, and I will probably re-roll a new one once I get a fair hang and idea of what works best for my style and playing.
I've been working at the EMU for the last two days helping move stuff for the renovations that are about to occur downstairs. I've been moving a lot of glassware, chemicals, equipment and general stuff between the biological specimen preparation lab downstairs to the 'new' space upstairs in LG82, which is about 1/4 of the size of the old lab, as well as shuffling stuff across to the other side of the building into B64. It's been rather tiring work, and brain wracking in terms of trying to find space to fit everything and just squash it in..... Once the renovations are done in November, it's going to have to all come back LOL, I wonder if I'll be around to help that or not.
I've been waiting a long long time for more subtitles for On Air from the group KST, but they still haven't released 19-21.... =/ The series has now finished, and it finished on quite a high according to Drama Wiki, where they started ranked 7th in their timeslot and finished 1st in both Nationally and in Seoul, quite impressive ^^ Ah, how will Oh Sung Ah-shi go if she really did make a .......... LOL I want to finish watching it!
I will be house sitting on Saturday until Monday, so I probably won't be blogging until I am home again, and I guess there probably won't be that much to say across the weekend anyway.
