Well, it is that time of the year again when I get to try to reclaim some of the money taken off me in taxes. We have the luxury of doing it online and getting our tax refund via EFT (electronic funds transfer) into a bank account which has made things a lot easier.
The process really isn't that difficult, just a pain in the ass at times, and well this year is no exception to that. In my circumstance, I will now have to dig up old documents to prove my identity when lodging my statement, and I still have to wait for a bit of paper which has my HELPS/HECS debt on it. It's basically the cost debt of my university education. According to the calculation by this program, I will be getting about 75% of my tax refunded because I didn't earn that much in the last financial year. To which, that is great but all of that money will be going to pay off bills and alike. Oh well.
