Another early wake on Sunday for the same reason as the day before LOL. I packed my bags and was given some food to pack with my stuff to take back. Since I was going home, they decided to have lunch together with both families and my grandmother. We had actually booked for yum-cha at the Landmark in Sunnybank Plaza but when we got there it was absolutely packed, and of course, everyone else had a reservation too... the woman behind the podium said it would be about a forty minute wait for a table for us even with the booking, so we decided to move on. We ended up going to another place in the plaza called the Lai Lai, with a 'all-you-can-eat' selection which was quite limited, but at the same time quite cheap. It didn't really bother me since I don't eat that much anyway, and we had lunch together which was nice. The main attraction at the Lai Lai apparently was the deep fried chicken wings, and they only bring out a tray of it every twenty minutes or so, and when they do, the patrons flock like vultures on fresh prey, with the tray emptying out within minutes LOL.
Post lunch was pretty much a drive to the airport. They have a DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) near the airport in Brisbane while the one in Sydney is apparently bigger (and in Homebush, not by the airport). I got dropped off at the loading zone, which at Brisbane Airport is outside the terminal area while the taxi rank is directly against the terminal (while in Sydney, it is kind of opposite that at Departures....). I was thankful that I got to the airport relatively early because when I was lining up to check my luggage in, the luggage conveyor belt system broke down. They checked in as much as they could and manually loaded the bags onto the belt as much as they could, and then stopped since accepting more baggage would mean it wouldn't be on the belts and be against OH&S policies no doubt. I ended up taking out a book from my bag and reading in line since it was about thirty to fourty minutes before the technicians fixed the problem and the line started to move again. They prioritised those who had the earlier flights to catch but I had plenty of time.
After check-in, I got a drink because I was really thirsty from lunch, and read until my flight boarded. The flight was fairly uneventful, I slept for half of it and read for the rest, while eating my pink cupcake and drinking my cup of coffee. The landing was good, but not as smooth as the Brisbane one since there was a slightly bounce but the plane didn't lift off from the bounce, more of a suspension shock type of bounce. Luckily for me, since I checked in with plenty of time, my luggage was quickly out onto the conveyor belt at the luggage claim. This was also the case in Brisbane, though I will have to test it further if I remember, if checking in early means getting your luggage out earlier or not.....
Dragged it onto the Cityrail airport link, and home I went.
And thus was my weekend.
It doesn't really sound that eventful, but, it was quite tiring for most part. It was really good though, and my cousins, being the crazy young nutbags that they are were lots of fun to hang with. They are actually quite funny haha ^^
So thank you to everyone I got to see and talk to over the weekend, and I hope to catch up with you all sooner than later.
