Saturday morning, early wake up because my relo's were busy with their home-made pork buns business. Breakfast, and the rain.....
Oh the rain, I brought it down from Sydney it would seem...
I got a lift with my friend to the engagement party, it was much appreciated.
The rain was a bit of a dampener but we had a lot of cover from tarpaulins which helped immensely. People trickled into the event over the space of about two hours to mingle with quite a large group of family and friends. I played photographer for the event since the families were very busy with arranging items, foods, music, decorations and alike.
Music was put across the entire suburb thanks to some high quality speakers and mixing deck, with a nice mix of classical, with finger foods of dips, indian goodies, sandwiches types of things while drinks were being mixed as angel punch and some wines/softdrinks.
In reality, there isn't really that much to say because not that much happened during it except for lots of people talking, catching up, congratulations, meeting new people from friends and families and that kind of thing. I didn't even do that much talking either since I was taking photos and moving around. I ended up taking 220 photos or there about.
We had some speeches from the families and lucky couple before desserts of chocolate, mini-meringue(spelling?) biscuits, cake and fruit were served and a game of 'know the couple' crossword was played with chocolate frogs being the prize for each correct answer. By then, it was quite late in the day, and had pretty much hit evening, and people were going their ways, and attempting to get out of the bog that the car parking paddock had become. Some people left with artistically decorated trousers thanks to high speed revolution tyres LOL.
It was a good afternoon though, I did manage to get some conversation happening, and the food was good. And plenty of it. I managed to get a lift back to my relo's, and had dinner out with my young cousins and we talked about university stuff since one of them was at the point of making university choices, while another was thinking of changing courses. After dinner we were back to the house and I had some conversation with my uncle and auntie before going to bed.

Heya Don,
Just came across your blog. Thanks for your help at the party! It was great having you there! And thanks heaps for the photos --- I've not really had a chance to look through them in great detail yet, but I certainly will be doing so soon!
cheers mate,
D
