Just Add Water

A slower movie, narrated by Danny DeVito who is also one of the cast in this feature.

It is about a town whose population has both dwindled in size and quality after the government deemed it to be a toxic wasteland and the inhabitants live in a dead routine. Ray, who has grown up and lived here all his life is sick and tired of the town but yet he still sticks to the daily routine because he has no-where else to go, and still dreams of seeing the town revive somehow.

His mother dies, and he discovers his wife has been having an affair with his brother and these events start the ball rolling for change. Along the way, he finds friends with his long time affectionato at the supermarket and the new owner of the gas station to combat the drug baron who rules the town.

It has some quirky humour in it, not much actually happens as such and there is no action, no sex, and it really isn't even drama. It could be said the movie itself is quite bland in content but the acting performances is what brings it to redeemable quality.

Just another one of those "have a dream, try to make it happen" type of movies but nicely done I thought.

Towards the end is a scene where Ray and his now girl Nora (the supermarket girl) are together

[Kiss]
Ray: What the hell was that??
Nora: It.. it's called a French Kiss.
Ray: A what?..
Nora: It's a little more intimate than a regular kiss. I read about it recently in one of those Harlequin Books over in the miscellaneous section aisle 3.
Ray: Sure was different.. Kinda like a toothbrush.... but I liked it.
Nora: You can try it if you want to.
Ray: Ok.... [moves in for kiss] are you sure?
Nora: Whatever you're comfortable with..
[Ray kisses Nora]
Ray: I think I'm getting the hang of it.
[More kissing]
LOL, Cute, no? =P
