Bah. Don't listen to him. It can't hurt to give advice - especially if you're leading. If you're still in doubt, ask one of the more senior people in their group as to their opinion.
Who is X? If X was one of the ones being led, X may not be "qualified" to make that comment.
X is the normal leader, but he wasn't there because he had an exam... He's qualified apparently according to our coach...
There was more said in the conversation but I didn't post it...
So, in the future, I'll probably just not lead if they ask me to to prevent such an issue.
