Jog #2 and Arm strength

After yesterdays initial jog, I went for another today. I don't know how long I'll keep this up, but as long as I wake up and the weather is ok and my legs feel up to it, I guess I will give it a try. Today's run was the same course as yesterday, from my house, around the other side of the railway and back, but this time I ran it in the reverse direction. I had a brief stop at the lights to cross the major intersection and a slightly pause for cars to stop at the zebra crossing on the way back. Same distance and it took about the same time. I think it is way too early to say that I have got any fitter considering it is only the second run, but at least I didn't collapse on the way.

While my legs ache more today than yesterday (possibly since yesterdays ache wasn't 100% gone when I started today), I did stretch before and after so hopefully it will help a little. I also took some vitamin B last night and then with breakfast just then after my run to help recovery. I don't normally take vitamins but I guess if I am out to deliberately punish my innocent body in this way, I should assist it somehow.

The exercises Vivian gave me for my arms are going well and I have been doing them nightly. They are actually very tough and it tires my arm quite a lot which is kind of surprising since I am only using a very small weight and the number of reps is also quite low. I guess I am working the muscles hard like she told me to, to build maximum strength development in them. I tried a few shinai swings last night, nothing too fast nor to powerful and while it didn't feel like normal, it didn't hurt and it didn't feel too heavy either, so it is a good sign that my recovery is going along reasonably. Thankfully I guess there is no real training for me to hurt myself with anytime soon.

It's already quite warm today with fairly clear skies compared to yesterdays overcast and sudden downpour so I am glad I went out for the run earlier.
