Shaolin Girl (Shaolin Shojou)

If you have seen Shaolin Soccer, then this film is in similar vein to that kind of genre. So much so that it even has a few of the same characters in it.

The main character Rin has completed three thousand days of training in China at the Shaolin Temple. That equals just over eight years of training. She decides to head back home to Japan to spread the word of Shaolin. Upon her return, she finds that her grandfather's dojo is in ruins and the head sensei is now a chef. With the former pupils scattered, she tries to revive the dojo by herself and she finds a medium through the local university and the sport of Lacrosse.

Lacross, Soccer, both have balls in them, and both now have Shaolin Kung Fu associated with them. The movie then goes on with her trying to interest the other girls in the team in Shaolin martial arts, and if you throw in a bad-ass villan, that is pretty much the movie.

While it is not a comedy like Shaolin Soccer is, it has some of the same cheesy feel to it with the way they play lacrosse using kung fu.

It's an okay film to watch if you don't want to pay too much attention, the fight scenes aren't really that good either, but it is passable.
