Photography Reputation?

I was asked something interesting today. One of my colleagues at the department told me that she had been engaged (for two months now) and she was going to be married in December this year. She then told me she had seen some of my photography and knew I was into it, and asked if I would be interested in taking photos for her wedding as a secondary photographer besides the professional they would be hiring.

She said that the professional would only be taking pictures of the wedding ceremony and official proceedings but not of the relaxation/crowd and the reception stuff and would like it if I could because I seemed to take good ones from the pictures of other group events I have taken.

Awesome huh? In any case, if I'm still in the country, I said I'd be happy to do it, and so marked the calendar with the occasion. Perhaps by then I might have some money, and I might consider getting a good wide angle with zoom with a better aperture range as while the 50mm is wonderful, it makes larger group photos hard if I don't have the ability to get distance to squeeze them in. I guess I have an entire year to consider the issue.
