I went to dinner today, quite early compared to normal Friday night dinners, only because I did a little bokuto waza and we got downtown around just before six in the evening. We went to Superbowl, a congee "specialist" restaurant since one of the people had a hankering for it.
It's a small shop. The service is relatively fast and simple. Price wise, it is so so and portion for congee is quite decent but that is to be expected considering it is mainly water anyway. I didn't feel like having congee so I had fried rice cake with a combination (a little green veg, BBQ pork, prawn and octopus bits) for my dinner. We had tea and mandarins thrown in as part of the dinner. The quality was also so so, I guess it is okay, nothing special but probably not a place I would return visit on my own desire I would say.
Post dinner, we bumped into another friend and we headed to Passionflower for dessert where I got a mix of Taro, Jackfruit and Durian icecream with coconut jelly, mocchi and coconut cream. It was actually really nice, but a little cold for the weather. Then, to top it all off, we then trooped over to the Midtown Cafe on George St for coffee/tea, where I had a Chai Latte and talked some more before driving home.
Quite a social evening for me, since I hadn't really seen or socialised in two weeks since the study vacation period and exams kicked in. Nice night. ^_^
