In response to Jenny's posting of intelligence.
(This was a email to Jenny, but I mistyped the email, so I'll post instead of re-emailing).

Intelligence.
I read most of the long posting on intelligence, but not all of it.
I decided to stop reading, because I too have a certain concept of intelligence, and thus, even though for argumentitive purposes should have finished reading it, I figured, it's not that important anyway =)
Intelligence is not a physical object.
For most, I would say that "intelligence" is a adjective to describe the mental capacities of any one person. I say mental capacities, because everyone has intelligence, just very different levels of it.
This should not be confused with the adjective "intelligent" because that work defines higher levels of ability in comparison to something else. I say comparitive, because a rat is intelligent compared to a snail, but not intelligent compared to humans etc.
Because (yes, bad sentence start and structure) intelligence is not a physical thing, it can't be really definted to be located anywhere either. On a pure scientifica basis, intelligence must be located generally in the brain. Sure, there are certain centres that have attributes of memory, spatial calculation etc, but the whole, as a sum of parts constitutes the terminology of intelligence. Not just one aspect. BUT, if you want to break it down, say, to mathematical intelligence, then you can say that certain cortex regions of the brain are prevalent to the processing of such intelligence etc.
But that is just my interpretations of it.

I am sure that a lot of people will have different concepts etc.
Luke would be a good person to debate with regarding intelligence I think. =P
