The emendations are finished and I even received the official letter telling me that I can do my emendations that day when I got home LOL.
In any case, I spoke to the GSE (Graduate School of Engineering) about what happens, and after the process is done. Basically, my supervisor approves of the corrections, then the postgraduate coordinator approves them then the head of department approves of them, then they send off a letter to the GSE to say it's all approved. The GSE then sends me another letter saying that I have met the requirements, and it's time to wait for graduation.
The sucking point of all this is that I won't be able to graduate until the 28th November. Yeap, there are two dates on the calendar for the faculty of Engineering to have their mass graduations on, 16th May, 28th November. I might have made the 16th May one if I had wrapped everything up with 6 weeks spare before it LOL, which would have meant the examiners finished it all in 3 weeks, and I had a week to do emendations and the round-robin letter sending. Sadly it didn't happen, so November it is it would seem.
With the work on the dental samples and bio-film, I haven't had a look at the SEM specimens yet, will have to book an appropriate time to do that. The TEM samples were embedded yesterday and taken out today for sectioning, but the sectioning didn't happen since the samples had sunk to the bottom of the embedding moulds and didn't have (in my opinion) sufficient supporting resin. I had to trim the blocks up some, and then re-embed into some BEEM (TM) capsules and stick them back into the oven to embed again, so tomorrow I'll take them out and trim them up before sectioning probably next week.
There is a careers fair on the weekend at the Sydney Convention Centre, so I might go to that instead of training since I'm still a little sick. I don't know if I should train tomorrow though.....
Oh, and I have the Contact Lens research trial session tomorrow, but before then I have to drive my mum to the airport as she is going to Brisbane for my Grandmother's birthday. And it's also Louis' Graduation..... a rather busy Friday it would seem.....
And for another impromptu 3 line movie review
The Kingdom, starring Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner.
A team of US terrorist investigation specialists go to Saudi-Arabia or somewhere near there to investigate a bomb attack that killed one of their colleagues and discover the depth of problems associated with investigating something like that in a very closed cultural environment.
The start is very shocking, with a bit of a slow movement in the middle half, and the last quarter is quite heavy with fast paced action. Quite graphic so if you don't want to see high level violence, I'd advise you not to watch it.
It's very thought provoking, especially the last scene. 8/10.
