Man I'm tired.....

Woke up at 7am, hopped into the car and drove to uni. Changed the resin from 50% to 70% as planned, and I managed to get in an hour on the SEM505. Interestingly, I looked up on google SEM micrographs of bacteria to see what I should be looking for. Well, it would appear at 10 000x you can see them, so I didn't really need to go to 20 000x as Filip suggested. But of course, that depends on the bacteria since I'm sure they are not all of the same size.

In any case, I think I found stuff that looked like bacteria but I can't be certain since I've never had anything to confirm with from experience. I have more session time on Monday, though I wonder if I will be able to find more....

Kendo training was a little different today than usual. Our instructor cut warmup short quite significantly compared to normal. And then in Bogu training, all we practiced were short cuts. Not entirely why, but it might have been something from the Friday Night training, or that we had four visitors today. Rixon Sensei, Minter, Lee and Rixon's daughter. So we did kirikaeshi as normal, then short men, short kote, short doh, short kote-men. Then we did the four-in-a-row exercise where you cut, keep going, cut, keep going cut, turn around and repeat. It's quite a tough exercise if you're not fit (e.g. me) and we did it for shot men, but with different spacing. The first set was men, chudan, men, chudan, men, chudan. The second lot was men, stepping, men, stepping, men, stepping, i.e. not lowering the shinai to chudan before the next cut. Then rotation jigeiko and free jigeiko.

I learnt a little today in regards to short cuts, to be more relaxed with the wrists, and to use the left more to push and raise instead of pulling the right hand back to do the cut. Very useful. I didn't cop any nasty hits today, except when I dodged one cut from someone during jigeiko and I took it on the ear. It left my ear ringing and hurt pretty badly, but it was my fault for dodging that way. I had my first jigeiko with our instructor and I got some hits and he even said 'good' to me during it, so it felt good to know that I have improved some since the last time I played him several months back, I couldn't' do anything except be a hitting dummy.... My knee is also playing up though, so definitely not happy.

Post training, I went home and ate lunch at home, then dinner while watching Fifth Element. It's an old movie, but I still love it.

And then, now I'm blogging haha. Tomorrow is a pretty quiet day methinks.
