I just finished and sent off an application to be a Analytical Scientist at 3M, based in St Paul, MN.
I was pretty much losing ground in my current situation and I made the hard decision that I couldn't be standing still anymore. To protect myself I had to do something, so I decided to be back on the application tracks.
The position is an interesting one, and I think I could possibly do it well, given a little bit of a start to pick up and learn the things that I am missing. I feel that I have enough experience for the position to be able to do most of the basic tasks, and then pick up the rest along the way, hopefully with help from other colleagues in the same workspace.
There are no closing dates for their advertised positions, and there are no pay rates mentioned. Since they are US based, I don't know when/how they will contact me if they wish to contact me to have a chat, or if they will even let me know of rejection. I guess I'm back to playing the waiting game one way or another. Oh well.
