I took a drive to the hardware store for my little project as seen in my Kendo blog today. The complex used to contain a "Reject Shop" otherwise known as dollarshops or shops that stock low priced goods of dubious quality, a few bedding stores, a auto supplies shop and some furniture/lighting stores. Recently though, most of them moved out of the complex since it seems they didn't get much business except for the auto shop, since blokes who go hardware shopping will usually be also interested in their cars....
In any case, I was very surprised to see that the complex has now new tenants, with customers, or contractors building the stuff for the new tenants inside. The new complex now has what appears to be a play-centre called The Wiggly (themed on the popular childrens group The Wiggles), a Laser Tag facility (M9 Laser Zone), and what has me most excited is, a bowling centre (AMF Bowling). Hot damn, a new bowling venue. Admittedly, I already have one near me, and I've been to it once, but having two nearby is even better. I like bowling though I don't get to go often. Even still. Awesome~!
I got the supplies, well, supply since it was singular... and came home and filled up the car. Then proceeded to create and finish the project of the urban Kendo Dummy v2.0 and tested it out. While I was at the hardware place though, I had a look at some mesh materials that we could use at the club to make a shinai container with. It would probably cost about $120 or so to build it ourselves if someone wanted a dodgey looking non-professional job.... oh well.
It's still drizzling right now, such dreary weather. Exams have started for people at UNSW this week, so good luck to all of those people who have them.
Oh, and the complex has been renamed to The Woods.
